Anzac
A detailed Summary of Anzac
To many people what is an Anzac? Is it simply a word we use to name food or people or is it more. My name is sgt smith from the 53 sqn cadets and today I am here to speak to the cadets of the Air Force Cadets about the Anzac and the legend that lives on.
Many people back in Australia will know and appreciate what the Anzac means to us but for you it can simply be said that ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. On this day we and our counter parts the New Zealand people will remember those who fought, died, suffered, returned or otherwise served there country.

And the Anzac legends didn't mention mud and blood and tears.
There is an awakening in the young, that the ANZAC spirit means something. The Anzac legend is alive and well, maybe not in returned service men or the marches, but in the crowds that show up to the dawn service and the main parades, but one thing is for certain. As the years flow on and Australian troops are once again sent away to battle the spirit of the Anzac will stay and protect us for years to come.
Many people will say ANZAC day is a holiday. No! Its not to me ANZAC day is a commemoration of the great sacrifice that many Australian and New Zealand troops had made for there country. Although the early mornings and sore feet I believe its all worth it. But this inconvenience and pain is nothing compared with what they went through. My efforts in the ANZAC day parades at my home town have helped keep to ANZAC legend going forward to the next generation and this is the legacy that lives in all Australian and New Zealanders.
