Physica and Art
A detailed Summary of Physica and Art
Art and Physics are both attempting to explain and explore the world around and within us. These are two very different disciplines and the commonality that they share is in trying to explain existence in the universe. They are almost working together the way that the two hemispheres of the brain work together to help us have a greater understanding of our senses and our universe. Just as the two hemispheres of the brain, one is dominating the moment or idea yet cannot function and understand without the other.
The artist is not restricted by paradigms that the scientists is locked into. They do not follow "theory". They simply create from everything and the "physics" for the artist is nature. The physicist takes nature and dissects it in order to explain how it works. The arts are very sense orientated and physics is very mental and computational. Like the developing language of an infant we experience images and our senses before we experience the ability to explain them. This is apparent to me when I watch my five month old son learn about and experience his world by placing everything into his mouth. Art is undeniably a precursor to language, hieroglyphics and drawings came long before a true written language. Im

ages show us our world and reality before we begin to explain them.
Art in some way foreshadows physics. The avante-garde myth is in the thought that it is the artist that understands his message. In fact it is simply the art itself. The artist may not understand or even be aware of his own clairvoyance. The artist is merely the messenger for the art that displays the shifts in our perception of reality. I believe we can avoid this avante-garde myth only if we can open our minds to see the artist as the medium for the truths behind our reality that we are yet to know.
