Anonymity is used in the novel Lord of the Flies by William Golding and as well as the articles from the New York Times about the Ku Klux Klan. Anonymity could be describes as being unknown or unacknowledged. Basically just not being noticed by everybody else. Anonymity could be used in a positive way as well as a negative way. The negative way is shown greatly in the Ku Klux Clan issue, the people of the KKK are using their anonymity in a negative way and letting them get away with serious crime. Also in the Lord of the Flies Anonymity was used in a bad way by Jack because it made him a fiercer hunter then before. More over Anonymity is a very negative thing to use, because it can lead to violence and chaos.
In Lord of the Flies Jack uses anonymity to disguise his identity and put him into the position of a hunter. Jack states" For hunting. L
ike in the war. You know- dazzle paint. Like things trying to look like something else-." Jack is comparing the face paint to something extremely dangerous and even use this word war to compare to a simple thing such as face paint this is showing the true evil side of Jack. This statement shows that Jack is always thinking along the lines of war and danger. Jack and the others use face pain whenever the kill something or someone. The face paint is used to disguise himself or herself from everybody and commit crimes so they can get away with it. This again is showing that anonymity is being used in an incredible bad way, helping people kill one another without punishment. Therefore, in Lord of the Flies Jack's use of anonymity was used in a negative and destructive way.
