A detailed Summary of Alcoholism
Did you know that 10% of all adult Americans are affected by alcoholism? Well, it's true!
Also, junior and senior high kids consume 35% of all the wine coolers sold in the United States.
Just think what it would be like living with an alcoholic parent. Pretty scary, huh? These kids

Parent will yell at them. Some kids tell them what the alcohol does to them and how it makes
them feel. Although alcoholics are aware of the effects that alcohol has on their mind and body, they still continue to drink.
Do you really know what alcohol is? It is a formula of ethyl alcohol. Some adults, even teens, think that there is little or no alcohol in a wine cooler. But there definelty is. Junior and senior high students take in 35% of all the wine coolers sold in the United States. That's a lot of for anyone let alone teenagers. Teens are often mislead by the advertising and packaging of alcoholic beverages. Wine coolers usually contain more alcohol than a mixed drink. Drinking too much can lead to cirrhosis of the liver. Cirrhosis is the ninth leading cause of death due to alcohol abuse. Also, three out of o

Alcoholism is a disease that not only effects the drinker's mind but their body as well. This is a disease that seems to run in the family, but not every family member is affected by it. People who are alcoholics drink more than others do and until they had too many drinks, they don't know if they are drunk or not. People who are effected by this horrible disease become dependent on alcohol. They need it to feel good. Alcoholism can cause cirrhosis, high blood pressure, heart damage, and also brain damage. That is reasoning enough for me not to drink! When some people drink they act differently from when they are sober. Some may act sad, quiet, and sometimes cry. While others can get mad and even sometimes violent. Also, they may have a loss of energy, weight and sleep. Being an alcoholic can also lead to death from insanity. After people in the family know that the drinker has a problem, they will try hard to hide the alcohol. But the drinker will try even harder to find them! They become sneaky and cunning. They will also make up excuses to drink. One example could be are that they saying that they need to drink to get away from their problems for a while.
In conclusion, you should drink wisely. Because if you drink too much, you will probably end up hurting the people around you whom loves you and cares for you. The reasons that I listed are only a few reasons why you should drink lightly if you are a parent. You should also drink lightly even if you aren't a parent!
