A detailed Summary of Introduction Essay
As I ponder back in time about four years ago, just when I thought nothing could be harder than my high school English/Writing classes, I start to read my introduction to the highly perceived sixth edition of the "Ways of Reading" an anthology for writers. I am experiencing the biggest wake-up call of all times.
I find that all the words put together by Bartholamae and Petrosky could not have been said in any more of a perfect manner. I start to realize I couldn't have been any more poorly prepared for this coarse. Many things said in the introduction of this book such as imagine other ways of reading, and when reading, you hear an author's voice as you move along, believe a person with something to say is talking to you. I think one of my most difficult aspects of this book is going to be understanding the conflicts and phrases used by the ever so educated authors featured in this book. I feel one of the biggest obstacles to over come is the opening up of the mind, and letting it go wondering and develop it's own perception of the text. I know that keeping focused on a not so easy to understand text could definitely be a battle in itself. I hope from reading these ever so intriguing
