Immigration

The Positive Impact of Immigrants in our Society

The issue of immigration has become a major debate for everyone. Although critics argued of negative impacts of immigrants such as overcrowding, drug trafficking and threatening of American culture, immigrants still have a great impact in our society. Immigrants cause an impact in our society politically, economically and culturally. Politically, immigrants take a

major role in the presidential elections. They are in favor of the candidate whom they may count on to earn rights in the country. Economically, immigrants contribute to our economy. Cubans operate most major construction companies. Culturally, immigrants bring a new culture to our society.

Recently, people wanting to reunite with their family members, who may already have citizenship in the United States has been the major cause of immigration. More than one million people are coming to the United States for different reasons. Some regardless, still carry a conversation in Spanish to a non-speaking Spanish employee.

These immigrants have forced Americans to assimilate in order to perform their duty perfectly. Being fluent in Spanish enables the officer to communicate better with the driver. About 60 public assistance recipients marched on a city welfare office in Bushwick yesterday to protest a lack of translators for Latino clients who do not speak English (Daily News). Immigrants are forced to assimilate into the Hispanic culture such as speaking also.

Is Panda Express American or Asian? Apparently it is Asian; yet, at the mall the lines are filled with Americans waiting to be served Asian food. This is the impact the culture of immigrants has had on Americans. They bring a new culture in America, which some most Americans embrace while others reject it. Those whom embrace it cook less at home and order Pizza's which is an Italian Meal, Chinese food or Taco Bell, the Mexican Restaurant.

Also, immigrants have an impact on the presidential elections. Florida is the state for the candidates to win. It is not easy because it is not comprised of only Americans. These candidates must visit the foreign community during their campaign to reach out for them. Once the immigrants realize that a candidate has concern that will benefit them on immigr
