Last week a boy in my College Composition Two class made the following comment, “At the Senior Class President’s third grade birthday party, we all rode horses at her house.” The boy was talking about my third grade birthday party. He was trying to assure our teacher of how “country” I am. He was amused by the country nature, but I am proud of it and would not want it any other way.
