Measuring a Quasar's Redshift
A detailed Summary of Measuring a Quasar's Redshift
Objective- The objective of this lab exercise is to measure the redshift of a quasar.
22-1a- To find the number of angstroms per millimeter on the photograph I have to do a simple couple of calculations. First, I measured between line 3889 and line 6030. That gave me a total of 76 millimeters. Then, I subtracted 3889 from 6030. This gave me a total of 2141 angstroms. Finally, I divided 2141 by 76mm to get 28.17 A/mm
