riers that were placed in her way. When I arrived from school she would always tell me how much she missed Bolivia and how she wanted to go back. Even though her guidance counselor always gave her a hard time about her lack of academic potential, she strived to prove him and all other doubters wrong. Her actions influenced me to take the next step. This year during the summer I was suppose to attend STEP a program required for all students receiving EOF. I didn't want to come and waste my summer at school, but I saw that it would help me academically. I followed my sister's enthusiasm for learning and I am glad that I attended STEP, because it prepared me for my first semester at college.
