It is hard to move out for the first time because you miss all the good things at home; TV, computer, stereo, etc. You have to think on your own and for yourself this time. You also have to budget your time for things such as the laundry, groceries, dishes, etc.

According to Don Eastcott, you get lonely after you get settled in your new home. It seems that your independence is enjoyed for a short period of time and then you feel lonely and insecure. Your roommate isn't just anybody, he/she will see you at your worst; when you're dirty or sick, when you wake up in the morning and don't look your best, and other more embarrassing situations. You will have to share things with your new roommate and you will probably be expected to learn things about your roommate that you wished you didn't. As you can see, it won't be easy. Your roommate should also be responsible and they should have similar standards of living and cleanliness. Thus, to make sure you find a suitable roommate, make a list of what you expect from your roommate. You should also ask lots of questions when interviewing potential candidates. It would also be a good idea to see how they live at the moment. If their life style meets your requirements, they should fit in well with your lifestyle.
