Romeo and Juliet
By William ShakespeareThe factors that contribute to the alienation of Romeo and Juliet are Feud, Family, Fate and Romantic love. My view on these issues is that these factors contribute to the alienation of the youth today but also contributed to the alienation of youth years ago. These factors are all important to the youth today but some our more important then others. These factors are apart of every day life for the youth today, With family and romantic love always on the mind of a youth. In the play Romeo and Juliet, They are both alienated by friends and family. This destroys their confidence in talking to their families and friends and alienates them even further. In the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, feud is involved in many of the scenes. It involves many people including Romeo and Juliet. They are married in secret because they don't want their families to know or they will get in their way and ruin it. If their families found out they will stop the marriage and make Juliet marry Paris, so Romeo and Juliet are forced not to see each other. It would also make the feud worse and may result in someone dying. If this were to happen Romeo's life would ref
This alienates Romeo and Juliet from their families, and is likely to split them apart even further. Juliet's parents are already angry enough with her refusing to marry Paris. This makes the lovers' vulnerable because the only people they can turn to is each other. Friar says, "These violent delights have violent ends." {II.6.9} This shows his point of view on the matter. He is foreshadowing that an overdose of love can lead to our deaths. In Juliet's family Lord Capulet gets extremely angry because he expects Juliet to obey him, and when she doesn't it leads to a fit of rage: "Or I will drag thee on a hurdle thither / Out you green-sickness carrion, out you baggage / You tallow face!" {III.5.155-157}. This anger comes from Juliet's refusal of Paris' hand in marriage. Lord Capulet is furious because she thinks Paris is the perfect person to marry Juliet. Lord Capulet is alienating Juliet by doing this. Romeo knows that he is in trouble right after he kills Tybalt. He is terrified, he doesn't want to be banished because it would mean he would have to live far away from the person he loves, Juliet. If he just died all this pain would be over. Both Romeo and Juliet talk about death a lot. This is connected by fate that their lives are controlled by fate, and their fate is to die. Thoughts of death increase with increased alienation.
