In many ways, the movie Pretty Woman parallels to that of Cinderella. "Allegedly planned as a grim, downbeat drama until director Gary Marshall came onto the scene, the movie was transformed in all senses of the word into a classic fairy tale, a la "Cinderella" (Putman 2). However it's not the similarities and differences between the two that matter, rather the principle content that counts. Like Cinderella, Pretty Woman has been dealt an unfortunate hand in her life.
