The Crucible

The drama of the Crucible takes place in Salem 1962. Arthur Miller creates many frauds in the story, one of which is Abigail Williams. Abigail is the 17-year-old niece of Reverend Parris. Abigail scares the children of Salem to call witch on the town; she seeks revenge on all the people who gossiped about her. Abigail is using the court to get power, recognition and revenge. As the play unfolds you will see what an envious villain Abigail is. Tituba, and the girls were caught dancing in the woods by Reverend Parris. Abigail called witch on Elizabeth Proctor, John's wife. Abigail means to kill Elizabeth to marry John. In the end Abigail will have lost the battle for John.

One early morning Reverend Parris caught his slave, Tituba and the children of Salem dancing and making love charms for the boys they desire to marry. Betty, Reverend Parris' daughter, fell ill when they are cau


Abigail uses her power of the court to get vengeance on the town. She wants to marry John and kill Elizabeth, but John is accused of witchcraft and would not sign his confession. Abigail runs away because she knows that the town does not believe her anymore. Abigail told John she never meant to bring any harm upon him; all she wanted was to be with him. Abigail is also being outcast and the only person she wanted is about to hang. She is upset that her plan to marry John ends his life instead of Elizabeth's. Abigail has to live with the fact that her vengeance and plan to have John killed his life and the lives of other any innocent people of Salem.
