Imact of School on Teens
A detailed Summary of Imact of School on Teens
Teenagers of the twentieth century face the same problems that they did in the nineteenth century, but now these obstacles seem to have become more complicated. Suicide statistics in the United States among teens have skyrocketed over the past years by many contributions from our society. Many say that education is freedom; although when you're a teenager your perspective is very different. Actually many teens today would tell you that education is far from freedom.
The pressures of our economic society have slowly begun to affect the children of America. As the population increases rapidly, we have to compete for the highest paying jobs and the best education. Unintentionally our predecessors have set a changing standard that is impossible to satisfy. There is always someone better than you, and if there isn't then there will be soon. To be successful in school you need a balance of study and relaxation. If you study too much you will have no social life and sociality is very important in our environment. If you relax too much you will fall behind in your studies and your grades will falter. When you have a perfect mix of both you feel confident with yourself and if you find friends along the way, they will support you and

Grades are the only thing that reports your progress in the vital process of your education. Colleges select their accepted applicants by checking grades. If you don't have the grades then you just do not make the cut and nothing can be helped. Report cards are very stressful on teens. If you do well, you have to worry about doing better the next report period. If you do terribly you have to face your parents and suffer the consequences. I think that report cards are the worst part of school. They can get you in so much trouble and they do not even express the effort and how hard you try. If a student slacks off in the first two quarters and does very well in the third quarter (of a semester), there would be no chance for him or her to pass.
Suicide occurs more often than not. Depression and suicide come when you have lost all confidence in yourself and in others. You feel like you have nobody to turn to and nobody can help you because you cannot even help yourself. Grades, peer pressure, an empty love life, or an enemy can contribute to the situation greatly.
A lot of kids cut school. It is almost like a drug; once you start it is hard to stop. It starts when you forget to do your homework and do not feel like going to class. Concidentally, your friend does not want to go to class either and so you go get something to eat or stay at someone's house. The first time, you probably will not get caught so you will feel like doing it again right?
