The Perils Of Apology
A detailed Summary of The Perils Of Apology
The popular notion of an apology is that it's supposed to make you feel better, whether by presenting a facade of forgiveness, or by laying down the facts of a situation. Maybe it is supposed to make a situation better, or possibly it's meant to lessen the tension between two people so that an upset will be easily forgotten. It's hard to decide which side of an apology is worse to be on; the apologetic, or receptive side. Right away, most people decide that receiving an apology is much easier than giving one, however, for some, it is just as easy to say sorry as it is to say thank you. On one side of an argument, you may be the one who messed up; either knowingly or accidentally, and apologizing would mean losing face. On the other side, as much as you want to forgive the person, you may be pissed off and unwilling to yield to forgiveness. As hard as it is to work up the courage to give a meaningful apology, it's ten times harder to forgive the person. You have to think and decide whether the person is really sorry or not. Then

you have to understand whole heartedly what the person did to betray you, and whether or not it is worth accepting an apology. Then there are just those occasions where no matter how many times a person can apologize, it just won't matter. I get to the point where an apology, or offer of truce, won't matter because my mind is set in the position where I can only admit that I am right.
Apology is actually one of the better essay topics that I've had. You get really deep into the true meaning of an apology. It starts with scribbling down thoughts that run through your head, until your brain in engulfed with thoughts, feelings, emotions, beliefs, opinions, judgments, and different views of apology and forgiveness. It changes from a word or topic to a mindset that you sculpt, like an art project, to perfection. There are so many perspectives that the topic can go on ceaselessly. An essay like this can really show a lot about a person, with the way that they express themselves and their feelings.
You probably hear most people say that an apology
