A detailed Summary of Pap Finn's Story
Pap Finn is the antagonist in the novel Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain. Pap appearance is around 50 years old, and he looked like a beggar. He has tangled hair, long, black whiskers, and a pale white face. Pap has no love or compassion for his son, Huck Finn. The only person that he cares for is himself. Everyone in town scorns and hates him for his actions, attitude, and his endlessly envious behavior toward the people around him. He is a selfish and alcoholic father.
When Pap speaks the words are filled with brutal and detraction. He has no love or sympathy for anyone and even to his own son. "I'll take you down a peg before I can get done with you," said Pap when he feels unhappy because he didn't have whiskers. He would warn other people in town for trying to get his son away from him. He does not want anyone to help Huck, because Huck has a chance to become better than him. "How much you got in your pocket," asked Pap. He would usually asked Huck these questions so then he can get money and buy more whiskers for himself. When Huck answered that he has no money then Pap would get upset and yell at Huck. Pap expected Huck to support him now si

nce he is a full-grown boy now. He sometimes eventually abused Huck by hitting him. These are some of the things he said that is a put-down for Huck and shows everyone that he does not care for Huck Finn.
Pap will one day realize what he did to Huck was wrong and he will change. Since he has no friends or family for him to boss around, he will slowly discover that he needs Huck and give Huck what he needs. The value of family and friends will soon knock some senses to him, because there is no one that will be there for him. The value of having Huck in his life will teach him how to love and respect himself but to others. He will have a dramatic change in him. He will find out that you cannot use people for your own benefit but form a relationship between them and earn their love. Pap will prove to everyone that he got love and sympathy for Huck and that he is not inhumane. If he doesn't take any further action then he will live his life as a lonely man with no friends or family.
