Gun Control
The Second article to the Amendments of the Constitution of the United States provides: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. Merriam-Webster defines gun control as regulation of the selling, owning, and use of guns. Others define it as using two hands. When our founding fathers wrote this Constitution over 200 years ago, the "well-regulated militia" clause they had in mind included all white males. Today the "militia" includes all adults, regardless of gender or race. The founding fathers also allowed the broadness of the Bill of Rights for a change as "the government saw a need." The issues dealing with gun control revolve around many factors. Of these many factors the main ones are freedom, safety of public, and problems associated with guns. Some people believe we are free; are we really free? How can we be free if the government wants to control our actions? The freedom to kill is restricted, but this protects the freedom of others to live. Everyone wants our freedom to benefit him or her and wants the freedom and right to defend them
The problem with guns is that it makes it easier to kill or injure a person, more than any other weapon, such as a knife or a claw hammer. Efforts should focus on stopping criminals, not disarming honest American gun owners. Some people believe that these gun controls keep criminals from obtaining guns. They do not. The motto of the NRA says it all, "If guns are outlawed only outlaws will have guns." It is 100% totally and completely illegal for a criminal to: touch a gun, get a gun, try to get a gun, buy a gun, try to buy a gun, use a gun, sell a gun, have a gun, give a gun, make a gun, fix a gun, point a gun, shoot you, shoot at you, shoot at all, hit you, hurt you, threaten you, molest you, restrain you, and harm you in anyway. Criminals still do all of these, they do not follow gun control laws, and they will always have guns. For example, in a survey of prisoners, a majority said that prior to imprisonment they had owned a handgun, and fewer than one in six had been purchased from a retail dealer. They also said that after released they would have no trouble obtaining a gun, despite legal prohibitions and laws. They would get their guns on the black market, ab
