Patrick Henry, a self-taught lawyer, gave a speech to 122 delegates upon his proposal. In this speech he conveys his argument using rhetorical strategies such as: past experiences, illusions, and anaphora. Using these devices this shows that he wants revolution, therefore "we must fight!"
Throughout this article, Henry tells the audience his opinions of how he thinks going to war is unjust and wrong. At times he tries to hold his thoughts back from the open by saying, "should I keep back my opinions at such a time..." He shifts his argument from the first paragraph to the second.
