Tuck Everlasting

The book that I have read is Tuck Everlasting. The author of the book is Natalie Babbitt. The book has 139 pages. The characters in the book in the order as they appear are Mae Tuck, Angus Tuck, Winifred Foster, her parents, a man in a yellow suit, Miles and Jesse Tuck, and the Constable or sheriff. Tuck Everlasting takes place in the home of Mae and Angus Tuck. Mae wakes up Tuck and tells him that their sons Miles and Jesse will be home soon and she was going to meet them. As Mae leaves the setting of the story goes over to a forest that is owned by Winifred parents. Winifred (also called Winnie) is outside by the gate of her house talking to a frog. The frog is just sitting there and Winnie is talking about how she plans to run away because her parents are always watching what she do. As Winnie is talking to the frog a mysterious man dressed in a yellow suit comes up to the gate and began to ask Winnie some questions about someone he is looking for. Winnie's grandmother looks out the door and ask Winnie who is she talking to. The man tells Winnie's grandmother about the people that he is looking for. The next day Winnie leaves her house and goes into the forest and sees a boy drinking water from a spring. Wh

en the boy sees Winnie he quickly put the pebbles back over the spring and Winnie asks him what is he doing. The boy introduces himself as Jesse Tuck and says that he is a 117 years old. Winnie doesn't believe him until he says that he is seventeen. Winnie again notices the little spring and ask if she can have a drink of that water. Jesse tells her no because it is nasty and she doesn't know where it has been. Winnie tells Jesse that if he is drinking that water than it must be safe for her. Just then Mae Tuck grabs Winnie and put her on a horse. Once they are far away from the woods, Winnie then meets Mae and Miles. They try very hard to explain why they have brought Winnie there. Jesse starts off by telling Winnie that the water that she wanted to drink would keep her young forever. When Jesse that he was 117 years old, he was telling the truth. Mae told her that when they had first came into the woods, they all stopped to drink some of the water and they began to notice that as time went by, they were not getting any older. They proved that the spring was the reason because their cat was the only one that didn't drink any other the water and died 10 years later. Mae then said that Winnie was going to have to come home with them. At the Tucks house angus Tuck took Winnie out on a canoe to explain why she could keep their secret. Tuck said that if people knew about the spring
