BMX

"For all you die hard fans who have just tuned in its 7:30 and your listening to Howard Stern. Today Robin's brought in Gary the Retard and Beetlejuice. We're going to..." Forgetting to switch off my alarm the night before, I arose in shame and anger. As I slipped through the last of the sheets, which had remained on the mattress after a long stressful night, I realized my two-day vacation had already begun. Knowing that I would not be able to go back to sleep, I moved toward the knob that leads me to the anger and frustration that I hide from every night. Thinking I must face the two who had brought me into this horrid world made my blood flow cold.

Ever since the tube that connected me to my mother in ways that helped me breath, feed and live had been cut I've been living in complete discomfort trying to survive on my own. Since that day, that evil day which if were a few years back would allow me to buy alcohol, my parents have made my life unlivable. From morning to night I dread the reoccurring voices that scold my ways and me. The same voices that tell me I'm never good enough. The walls that shelter me from the outside world can not be called a home if it can not be lived in. How could a person want to be home

I started up upon a tabletop. My shoes gripped the steel pedals once again. As I leaned forward a sudden shock ran through my bones. I rode on. Faster and faster my speed increased around the turns and over bumps. My hands gripped and squeezed the handlebars enough to break a mortal's hand as I approached the first take off. Before I could even realize what was happening, I found myself in the air. Quickly I took my feet off the pedals to do a no-footer. My feet quickly scurried back to the steel platforms. My body loosened as I hit a soft landing. In less than a second, my blood was replaced with adrenaline. I grew deaf. I quickly glanced to my friends and saw their mouths moving, but no sound could be heard. My brain only processed a beat, which could not be my heart for an irregular, fast beet was heard. "Thump. Thump, thump. Thump, thump, thump." It seemed as if I was moving in slow motion, because I was able to see every tiny aspect of what was happening around me. I leaned back as my back tire had finally lifted off the ground once again. My right leg came off the pedal and crunched towards my body. The weight of my body was off both legs as I kicked the frame around the handlebars with my left leg. As all this was happening I focused on watching where the pedals were so I could arrange my foot placement if needed. I used all my arm strength and body movement to help spin the frame around the handlebars faster. As I saw the frame approaching its original position I put my right leg down to catch the cold chrome. The second I felt my right foot on the bike, my left leg fell faster than a fat guy bunging with out the cord off a bridge. I clenched my teeth as tightly as I could. My front tire smoothly made contact with the top of the landing. Then the weight of the bike smashed down hard. As I shut my eyes, I placed my fingers onto the chrome lever, which tightened a wire, pressed rubber against my rims. I realized it was all over.

As I studied my surrounding area to plan out my goal, I saw that the only dirt jump that I would be able to make a trick off of would be one of the doubles, that was made of two pairs of take-offs and landings. These four compacted, smooth piles of dirt would be my main focus for my upcoming actions. I took many laps around the environment to make sure no small flaws would be able to ruin this stunt for me.

Several moments after I had arrived, the people with whom I ride with whenever free time is obtained welcomed me. My old propaganda had backfired. The lines I had used to seem
