For example, one of the founders of sociology, Max Weber attributed all family structural changes to the social changes spawn by the industrial revolution. The impact of technological change and the increase of material wealth that occurred during the industrial revolution seriously affect family and social relationships and structures. The new principles of social structure caused a shift from extended family households to nuclear ones.
