The Troubled Life of Hank Williams Jr.

Hank Williams Jr. has accomplished many things throughout his lifetime as a

country singer, songwriter, and performer. The lyrics in his songs catch your attention

because of his rock-and-roll and country music style. Hank Williams Jr., a troubled man

who flirted with drugs and alcohol found his calling in life after his father’s death and his

own near death experience. His songs are opinionated with energetic and emotional

terminology that most people can relate to.

Hank Williams Jr. was born on May 26, 1949 in Shreveport and is still living and

sharing his country music today ( Williams 129). Hank had a large family because he was

married, then got divorced, and then married his second wife, Becky White. He has four

children between his two wives, Shelton, Hilary, Holly, and Lycrecia (LaBlanc 243).

Hank’s father was Hank Williams Sr. and his mother, Audrey Williams. Hank didn’t

receive an education because of dropping out of high school (Kilgore 2). Hanks

occupation consists of being a country singer, songwriter, and performer. He travels
