One thing that is most concerning is the funding for education. Many colleges and universities in Tennessee go without the funding to support students in their higher education. These schools have had to increase tuition substantially over the past few years to give only a minimum of scholarships away. Tennessee has also lost several students seeking a higher education to other states because they are unable to provide scholarships.

Colleges and universities are not the only schools struggling with funding in Tennessee. Many schools in Tennessee have been opened for over twenty years. These schools can not even retain enough money to even do minor repairs such as replacing of carpets, providing adequate dining facilities, providing more up to date books, and a major technological need, computers.
