Observing
As I sit on my apartment’s porch I try to make myself comfortable in a cheap plastic white chair. I began to recognize my surrounding and get in tune with my senses as I observe. The sun is blazing in my face as I see it over the apartment building. The clouds surround the bright, fire orange sun but it is hard to make them out with the sunlight is my face. It is almost like being completely blind as I look up to the sun to see the sky. I can feel the intense heat the sun produces as it heats up my body. The wind is not blowing the trees and there is not even a breeze present to cool me off. This is typical Louisiana weather in September. The humidity causes my hair to frizz and gently become curly. The stickiness that surrounds me is from the high humidity present on Louisiana summer days. Although, in some states fall has begun it is still summer here in Louisiana. The sun is now hidden which is a relief from the sweltering heat. Now, I am not blinded and I can see my surroundings. In front of me lays a cement sidewalk that is stained with black spots.
