The television allows athlete's to be seen, the radio allows athlete's to be heard and the Internet allows athlete's to be downloaded. Therefore, endorsement companies have benefited a great deal due to the large growth of technology. The reason Air Jordan's fabricated numerous amounts of money is not only due to Michael himself, but also because of Nikes amazing ad campaign. The company believes that it is not good enough to match an athlete to a product but allow the product to be seen and brought into the public.8 Michael Jordan is merely one of the numerous athletes that has endorsed products. Tiger Woods as well has recently signed a five year, one hundred million endorsement deal with Nike. This deal has made him one of the highest paid athletes of all time, along with Michael Jordan. Woods also endorses General motors, Rolex, and American Express to only name a few. Tiger Woods gross from the endorsements will land him fifty four million dollars a year.9 Tiger was exclusively offered such a significant contract due to his vast success in the sport of golf. Woods was singled out by many companies because he has become a household name and golf has become a mainstream sport. Society chooses to purchase products that are known , guaranteed and convenient. A reliable face, like a well known athlete allows a product to become believable and purchasable.
