CCP defeated by the GMD

A detailed Summary of CCP defeated by the GMD

In 1949, the Guomindang (Nationalist) party in China was defeated by the Communists. There were several diverse reasons for this. One of the main reasons that they lost was the lack of the lack of support of the peasants. Another major reason was the embezzlement of the money and foreign aid which mainly came from the US. Also, Communists controlled more land in China and therefore has more area of influence.

The GMD lost the support of their peasants because of the conditions they were forced to live with and they way they were treated in general by the government. The Guomindang was treated with no respect as if they were animals. When GMD peasants and soldiers were sent to war, in the civil war of 1946-1849 for example, even though they were very well equipped and trained, their feet and hands were tied with ropes so that they wouldn't consider or be able to run away and would be forced to risk their lives for the cause that they might not even have wanted to support anymore. These were un-humanly conditions to live with. Above all this, the GMD's main support came from the landlords who naturally wanted to keep their land. Therefore, even if the government would have wanted to give the land to the peasants and use land-refo

To tell the truth, never, in China or abroad, has there been a revolutionary party as decrepit and degenerate as we are today; nor one as lacking spirit, lacking discipline, and even more, lacking standards of right and wrong, as we are today... Everyone nourishes the evil habit of caring only for himself.

One could conclude that the GMD's loss in 1949 to the CCP was caused by more than one simple reason and that it was actually inevitable. They lacked support of peasants who deserted them for the CCP's much better conditions. They money and aid sent from foreign countries didn't go where it was suppose to and ended up in the pockets of superiors. Also, the CCP had more territory in China after the Japanese defeat so they had more area of influence. The People's Republic of China was established in October 1949 by the Chinese Communists Party after a great amount of battles and civil wars against the GMD because they were a very strong force; but yet they had many problems within their party.

The Japanese invasion, war and defeat also had great effect on the loss of the GMD. It tired the government and military financially and spiritually. Financial problems began to arise once more drawing people to the CCP who was not suffering such problems at the time
