When Pride Still Mattered

The title of my autobiography is "When Pride Still Mattered" by Vince Lombardi. "When Pride Still Mattered" was published in 1994 by Simon and Schuster Inc. The main point of the author that the reader should be aware of is that Vince Lombardi is considered to be the greatest football coach of all time and he was especially noted for his motivational speeches. Although he never directly tells the reader his purpose of writing this book, it is lead to believe that it is written to inspire all who read this story excel in whatever they try to do.

Vince also explained how his family did not disobey her much at all for the simple fact that "she would hit first and ask questions later", which made It difficult to use excuses.

The deal had five major reasons to persuade Vince to accept. These reasons were explained to Vince by a Green Bay representative: (1) More money. (2) Autonomy. He could be both the coach and general manager, and the board was promising to stay out of his way. (3) Talent. Jack Vainisi had stocked his team with skilled young players. (4) Recognition. The packers had nowhere to go but up, and Lombardi would get credit for there rise. (5) Living Conditions. It was far cheaper to live in northeastern Wisconsin than metropolitan New York. They would make sure that he had a nice house and that his children would attend fine Catholic schools. But as usual once he had to make a tentative decision that would take his life in a new direction, Lombardi faltered. He explained, "My normal air of certitude suddenly vanished, and I became a contradictory mess, torn between impulsiveness and introspection, hardheaded self-interest and se
