"Everyday Use" was about a Mama and her two daughters Dee and Maggie the Mama assume that Maggie is dumb because of her shyness and education. The older brother that is narrator of the story is an Algebra teacher, and Sonny was just always getting in trouble. Sonny abused drugs that made his brother assume that he was a failure. The brother talks to one of Sonny's friends in the story and he gets very angry for the reason that Sonny went to rehab but they let him out thinking he would not recover from his addiction.
