You stare into a mirror. The reflection glaring back at you is one that you can barely recognize. Your skin is ghostly white and malnourished. Tears begin to stream down your emaciated cheeks, as you strain to reach up and whip them. All you have ever known is the story of abuse and neglect. The thoughts of bouncing from foster home to foster home are your fondest memories . The feeling of loneliness has engulfed you from as far back as you can remember. You visualize the beatings, the screaming, and the tears that you have endured. Shivers race up your spine as you fall on your shaking knees and pray. You pray that one day a family will reach out to you. You pray that one day just maybe you can be loved, regardless of who the family is, just as long as you can feel love. Millions of same sex couples are ready and willing to provide a happy home for neglected children. However society does not permit this, and so you are still alone, and will be for some time.
