Solar Power

For many years scientists have been searching for new and improved ways to power their instruments. Many solutions have come to them along the way. They have discovered ways to make it by burning fossil fuels or by the force of water currents spinning turbines. But lets face it, their won’t always be fossil fuels to burn forever and there isn’t always a current to create electricity were you need it. That is exactly were solar power would come in. Solar power can reach places were other types of energy would never be capable to reach.

The ability to use solar power for heat was the first discovery. A Swiss scientist, Horace de Saussure, built the first thermal solar collector in 1767, which was later used to heat water and cook food. The first commercial patent for a solar water heater went to Clarence Kemp of the US in 1891. This system was bought by two California executives and installed in one-third of the homes in Pasadena by 1897.

Solar cell technology dates as far back to 1839 when a French physicist Anotoine-Cesar Becquerel first discovered that the shining of light over an electrode submerged in a mixture of specific chemicals could create an electric current.
