The Greek Philosophy and The Chinese Philosophy

The Greek Culture is the mother culture of the western society and has plenty influences among all western cultures, which include the American culture. The Chinese culture on the other hand, has always been considered the mother culture of the eastern society. The values between these two cultures seem to be completely different; however, they do have some similarities as well.

The Greek culture was deeply influenced by their philosophy. There were three significant philosophers in the Greek culture, Socrates (470 B.C.- 399 B.C.), Plato (427 B.C. -347 B.C.), and Aristotle (384 B.C.-322 B.C.). All three of them had a great impact in the Greek culture. Their philosophies stand for the value judgments of the Greek culture.

To conclude, although the details from both the Greek philosophy and Chinese philosophy were not discussed, it's clear to notice that the basic ideas between these two philosophies were somehow alike. The difference is the way to approach these beliefs, the Greeks recommended in a more physical attitude while the Chinese recommended in a more mental way. After all, they all tried to do the same thing; that is, to progress as human beings!
