Freedom is defined as "Liberty of the person from slavery, detention, or oppression". Without laws there could be no such thing as Freedom. Laws stop people from committing acts such as Slavery.

Laws are a requirement if freedom is going to exist. Laws stop people from killing and taking away someone else's freedom. Laws provide us with a feeling of safety and make us feel more secure about our freedom.

America has always been the country of the free, but it hasn't always been free. At one point in time America had a large population of slaves, the city with the most slaves was New York City in 1740. Now there is a law that stops people from doing the exact same thing ag
