Date Rape
Have you, or known anyone that has been a victim of date rape. The chances are that you do. 60% of college-aged males reported that they would use force in their sexual relations with women if they were sure that they would not get caught (WWLIA). Do you know what to do to protect your self from date rape? Do you know what to do if you become a victim? Who are the victims of date rape? Well most of the time the victim will be female. Rape can go both ways. It could be a female raping a male, a female raping a female, male raping female, and even male raping male. Date rape usually happen to college-aged women. Before you go to a party or on a date you should bring some extra cash in case you need a cab ride home. You could be on a date and go to a parking lot in the other persons car and they might be forcing you to have sex with them but you keep saying no! Then you get out of the car and they take off leaving you there. You might be at a party and you would like to leave before something bad happens, but you did not drive and you do not trust anyone there to give you a ride home. That is when you either flag down a cab or call for one.
Right after a rape you should not take a shower so you will not wash the evidence off. You should keep the same clothes on because there might be some evidence on them. Know matter how hungry you are, you should not eat or drink anything until after the examination. When you go to get examine, there will be a counselor there to ask a few questions and to help you out. They will be the same sex as you so you will feel more comfortable talking about your rape(HWC). There are a few warning signs for a unsafe relationship. Anyone that displays violent outbursts toward you is a red light to stay away from them. If they are verbally abusive or over controlling those relationships hardly ever work out. If they are always deciding what restaurant or movie to go to, they could also be demanding sex when they want it. If you say no and they proceed, this is date-rape. Men push for sex because they need to be masculine (Rape and Modern Sex War). Men will feel pressured by their friends sometime. Their friends will ask them if they got any the other night and they really like to brag if they have sex on the first date. Women do not do this as much because they have menstruatio
