Public Speaking (The Death of a Loved One)
It took me sometime to prepare this speech because I really wanted to speak from my heart. At first I felt that if I amused you I would be satisfied that it was a good speech. But then something happened and I felt the realness of it. What I’m going to talk to you about is something that is inevitable. Something that everyone has or will deal with. The loss of a loved one. How do you deal with it? Who can help you ? And when you’ll get over it?We won’t make it an issue of how someone we know died because death has no classifications but what I want to get across is that it takes more than you to, not get over it, but to get through it. What happens first is we lose someone very close to us by day or night and almost immediately afterwards we begin to shut out the people that live among us. Some of the reasons for doing this are because we feel someone is rushing us to get over it by thinking of activities to get our minds off of it.
