I thought that the search process on Rudolph Valentino would be fairly easy. I thought I would go to Yahoo, type in his name, and hundreds of websites would appear at my fingertips. It turns out it wasn't that simple. Four days before the report was due, my Internet cable connection stopped working. I had heard that the system hadn't been working properly lately and I figured it would clear up in a day or so. A day goes by and I decide to bug my parents about trying to get it to work. Rudolph became the main attraction at Maxim's, a high-class dance club in New York. He became involved in a yearlong affair with a married woman. The affair ended in a scandal when the woman shot her husband. After this, Rudolph decided to get away and he moved to San Francisco. After moving to San Francisco, California, he then set his sights on Hollywood. His first part in a move was being a dancer in the film Alimony. Rudolph's good Italian looks caught the attention of the movie star Mae Murray who insisted that he play the lead in her next feature, The Big Little Person. He played another leading role with Murray in The Delicious Little Devil.

One of the main things that I learned from researching Valentino is how much the 1920's are similar to today. When I think of the '20's, I feel like it was a million years ago. I don't think of them having Hollywood actors and gigolos. This researched opened my eyes to the corruptness of the 20's and the similarities that exist between now and then. I honestly don't believe much of the history of Valentino's life will be that relevant in the rest of my life but I do now have a deeper understanding of how life in the 1920's really was.

I then thought, since I already have the books maybe I will just write about film in the 1920's. After considering it for a few minutes I realized I would much rather learn about someone's life, even if it took a little bit of extra work to get the information.

I then decided to call up one of my best friends who lives next door and see if I could use her computer. She said it was fine and to call before I came. I called her about a half hour later and supposedly she had just gone to Caribou Coffee and would be home in an hour. She called me at 10 o'clock and said that she was home. I rush over, go to ask.com, click on some websites, print them off, and run home.
