French Revolution
A detailed Summary of French Revolution
I am Jacques, a member of the Bourgeoise. I like the majority of my class, am a skilled professional. It is the late 1700's and France is about to undergo significant change. I am going to look at aspects of my life in order to determine whether or not the French Revolution was really revolutionary.
First off I will discuss my life during the Old Regime. I was of the upper middle class, yet had no considerable political power. We are very well educated but, we were unable to advance in social class. This means that we will become unhappy overall because this is unfair to our entire class. We, being the educated, should have more of a say in all aspects of the community including politics.
When the Declaration of the Rights of Man was written we expected our taxes to be lowered. Since we are skilled we should have better opportunities to prosper. We expect to see the King to have less power or even better, removed from power. We would like to see vote by head count instead of by class. We want to see suffrage and the natural rig

hts of man. We need to have some control of or strong political influence. We need to be able to acquire property based on how well we are educated, how important our job is, how hard we work, and just because we are able to buy things in order to pursuit happiness.
I think that Napoleon will take a hold of this country. He will over throw the directory and the country will rally behind his leadership. I think the bourgeoise will prosper and the government will return to some normalcy. I can see that in the way he came to power that he may not be scared to share his ideas with surrounding countries. I don't think the leaders of other countries will want a new leader of France trying to start revolutions. If war ensues it will be a tough test for our country politically, economically, and will be tough for France to stick together.
