God in Noah's and the Prodical Son Parable

The god present in the story of Noah differs from the god present in the parable of

the prodigal son in many peculiar and interesting ways. The presentation of man differs

quite a bit in these two stories as well and have many contradicting points between them.

The representation of god in the story of Noah from the beginning shows a very

emotional and regretful god in more then one occasion. To be more specific god shows

regret first for man's wickedness and cold blooded heart. God also showed regret when

god made his covenant with Noah that would not use flood to destroy the earth again.

In the story of Noah, god is also very angry and revengeful. God is enrage with

all of the human race and decides to destroy earth from one moment to the next without

even really thinking about it. For example when god tells Noah is this: " The end of all

flesh is come before me; For the earth is filled with violence through them; and be hold I

will destroy them with the earth." (GENESIS 6-9). With that statement god proved that

anger and revenge led him to the destruction of earth.

God was also impulsive and extremely judgmental in the story of Noah. God showed being impulsive when he decided to d

Mankind was portrayed as the whole earth being lost even so that god regretted even creating men altogether.

X. J. Kennedy, Dana Gioia. Literature An Introduction to Fiction, poetry, and Drama. New York: Longman

(GENESIS 6-9). Except for Noah and Noah's generation which was very obedient, just, and perfect. "Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

In the parable of the prodigal son mankind is capable of change, humble and sinful first when the younger son wastes all of his inheritance in harlots and at bars. The younger son's second proof of being foolish and sinful was the younger son went to feed the swine and stood to the pig's level by fating with them. The younger son shower that mankind is capable of change, humble and seeking repentance with one phase the

God in the parable of the prodigal son shows that god is very generous. God's generosity starts by giving the younger his share of the inheritance even before the younger son is entitled to it. God is also generous when god accepts the younger son back still as his son even after god knows all sins the younger son committed.
