All Muslims Are Not Terrorists
Although all people from all parts of the world should be aware of the catastrophic terrorist attack that occurred in the United States on September eleventh, 2001 as well as the heartbreak it caused for at least five thousand families, the racial profiling and stereotyping of Middle Eastern people, which is a result of this event, must stop. The attackers of nine eleven were in fact Muslims. However, it does not follow that since those particular terrorists were Muslim that all Muslims are terrorists. Perhaps, a possible solution to ending the use of this stereotype would be to treat all people as if they are terrorists, with respect to airport security taking people aside for extra questioning. There are two main views on the issue of whether or not to implement racial profiling in airports. Most people are either for or against the issue. This means that there are not too many individuals who feel stuck in the middle. However, there are some people out there who do not know which standpoint to take. For example, a survey taken at an airport in the U.S., by John Stossel who is with ABC.com showed that every African-American interviewed wanted the attention focused on Arabs. However, when Stossel posed the question, "What if we stopped black people because young black men commit more crime?" people began to question their first statement.
