A Brave New World

Brave New World was written by Aldous Huxley in 1932. It is a look at the future of the world through the eyes of the writer. The book depicts a society where people are produced instead of being conceived naturally. The population consists of 5 castes: Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, and Epsilon. The Alpha embryos are designed to become the leaders and thinkers of the World. Each of the following castes are conditioned through oxygen deprivation and electro-shock treatments to be slightly less physically and mentally refined. The Epsilons, for example, are stunted by treatments of chemicals, among other things, as they are nothing but laborers.
