Martin Luther and Moses Maimonides are two individuals that challenged their own religious traditions during a period of crisis and division. There are many aspects of these two individuals that could be compared and contrasted closely as they both had a great effect on their religion. Internal and external problems that had arised during the period of Maimonides and Luther that threatened the prevailance of their religion is what commenced the actions of the two individuals to revolutionalise Judaism and Christianity. Both Maimonides and Luther wrote texts to help rectify the current status of their religion. They both achieved different results in the end but still changed Judaism and Christianity forever by presenting challenges to their tradition.

Moses Maimonides was a great influential leader in Judaism. He brought about change as he strengthened Judaism through his ideas and methods. He believed that philosophy based on logic is compatible with religion based on faith and set out to prove this idea which is present in
