Corruption
The first associations that come to my mind after hearing the word corruption are government officials and bribes. But, of course, it is not the only sense of this word. Corruption also means immorality, dishonesty and decay. When I pronounce the word I am trying to feel how it “tastes”. To me it sounds a little bit rough, but probably it is because of the double ‘’rr’’ and it has nothing to do with the sense of the word. But I still cannot get rid of the feeling that the sense of this word is negative.The word honesty, on the contrary, sounds positive, sounds “right”. Honesty is a principle that people always tried to keep to, at least in the past. People had to observe that principle, because if they didn’t they simply become ignored, despised by the rest of society. Now it is unlikely that all the people keep to that simple principle – to be honest. Most of the people stand before the choice – poverty or riches, honesty or corruption.
