I Found Jesus Christ
Have you ever thought that there was no place to turn or that there was no one was there for you when you needed him or her to talk to? I did once in my life, but then I found Jesus Christ and decided that I could make it through life without the help of friends or a boyfriend. With Jesus in my life, it has changed for the better in so many ways. How did I become a Christian? About two years ago, a friend of mine asked me if I would like to go to church with her. I hesitated for a few weeks and gave her some excuses, but pretty soon I ran out of things to tell her so I decided to go. I did become a "Christian" my first time there even though I was not sure what Jesus was all about, but I did continue to go. I met this guy there, and we became good friends. Together we would have conversations about Jesus. On September 9, 1999, I went to church knowing that I wanted to become a Christian and that I wanted what everyone else there had. The happiness, joy, and continuous smile they had on their face was what I was longing for. I thought that it was going to be something difficult, but my pastor said that all I had to do was say with my mouth and believe in my heart that Jesus is God and then I would be "saved". I did say
In addition, during the summer of my junior year of high school, I went to a little town called Weswanippi, a native village. This town is located in Canada about thirteen hours from Chittenango, New York. There were about fifteen people from my church attended there were five girls and ten boys. We all went there to minister to them and tell them who God is and what he can do for their lives. During my time there, I really grew closer to the Lord Jesus Christ. When we got there, many problems arose, but with God's help we were able to make it through them all. When we first arrived there all thought we had a place to stay, but, when we got there, we had no where to sleep for the week. As a group, we prayed to see what God wanted us to do. About an hour later there was a young man that ran the youth center that said we could sleep in the rooms that he had. Little did he know the next day was election day and that all the rooms were being used, so we had to leave once again and had no place to go. Jeff, the pastor, said he would take care of things, so we just left it with him and prayed about it as a group once again. Later that night, Jeff walked in the youth center where all the teens from the village and the church youth would hang out, and told us that a someone had gone on vacation and that he said it was ok to use his house. Praise God is the only thing we could all say the rest of the night.
