A detailed Summary of Realization


It's been nearly two weeks since you've been in Portugal, and what do you know, for two weeks you've been drunk You travel to your homeland every year to supposedly visit your family. But, you never seem to remember who you spent your time with or what you did. Grandpa, I'm sure you know this but you are getting old. You are getting too old to be drinking so much or at all. During the year you seem to be able to keep away from the wine and beer but what is it about Portugal that makes you drink? No one at any age should drink as much as you do. I know you don't want to hear this from me, considering I am your grandson and you may think that I am being disrespectful, but please read through this letter. It is for your own good. Read through this letter a couple of times. Please just try and be open minded.

First thing is first. Your marriage was ruined because of your drinking. I know, I know, I wasn't alive to witness what happened but I have heard both from Grandma and mom. They were scared from the times you came home, stumbling everywhere and


Like I said before, you are getting too old to be drinking so much. You are taking medication for your blood pressure and other pills daily. It can't be healthy to be mixing the alcohol with the medication. I am worried that either one of these days your going to drink yourself to death (how you haven't already I don't know) or severely/ fatally hurt yourself while in a drunken rage.

Last but not least, I think you need to stop traveling to Portugal. You like to visit your friends and family but it seems to be way to tempting for you to drink. Your friends and family offer alcohol to you and it is an easy opportunity to drink. It's like offering candy to a baby, of course he/she is going to take it. You're an alcoholic. Alcohol is your candy.
