Asian Americans have been a part of American society for many centuries but for most of the time they have been ignored or made to feel like they were second-class citizens. As of recently many Asian Americans have gained notoriety for their achievements and success in the American job industry. Some of these Asian Americans include the likes of Michael Chang, a tennis star, who has won over a total of 30 career titles and has been a finalist in 21 other tournaments and set many precedents which include being the youngest player to win a main draw match at the U.S. Open and the youngest to reach a Tour semifinal. Becoming the youngest French Open / Grand Slam Champion ever in 1989 (the year after he turned pro), he then became the youngest to rank in the Top 5. Chang ended an American drought of the French Open, becoming the first American male to win the French Open since 1955. In 1991 he reached the quarterfinals or better in 13 tournaments.
