Life is something people often take for granted. Life is something people should cherish and take into consideration that life can be short. At any point in time a person's life can be ended. Every person in this world can probably say that they have experienced a life threatening situation which they marvelously survived; the type of situation when they probably asked themselves, "Is somebody upstairs watching over me?" Many people have found themselves in such a situation, such as I have found myself in.
On a Saturday morning, I woke up to the sound of screaming ostriches, as I was lying on the floor of my friend Matt's room. As I awoke to the screaming noise, not knowing what was about to happen to me that night. I continued on my day, going to work at Subway. My shift started at ten o'clock and ended at three o'clock. I was in a great hurry to get my shift over with because my friend was having a birthday party in Beverly Hills later that night. I was so excited to go to this party. It was the talk of the week, it was the party everyone wanted to go to, and I was so excited to go. Having high expectations, I wasn't expecting what was really going to happen.

was planning on going to my friend's house to kick it there until it was time to head out to the party. I had planned for everyone to meet me and my other friends at my friend's house. To start the night off everyone was late; things just weren't going as planned. We all hurried to figure out the carpool situation, which was going in whose car so on and so forth. After planning on leaving at seven o'clock we ended up leaving at 8:15p.m. After all was said and done, I ended up riding with my friend Matt.
As I opened my eyes I wondered if my body was all in one piece and most all wondering if I was still alive. I looked over at my friend Matt: he was gone. I thought he had flown out the window; I was terrified. I got out of the car. Every car was stopped. There was complete silence. There were cars in every possible direction, some on its side, and others upside down. I was shaking uncontrollable. I wondered if I was really okay or if I was just in shock. I wasn't feeling any pain. I was waiting for blood, but for a sigh of relief, there wasn't. My friend Matt jumped out of the car as soon as it stopped and went to go see if other people had been seriously hurt. The police and ambulance came in about fifteen minutes.
