How to Wash a Car

Over the past several decades, cars have remained Americas main form of transportation. Many people take pride in the appearance of their cars. They constantly strive and compete to have the best looking car. Keeping a car clean has a dramatic effect on the appearance and presentation of a car. Taking a car through the car wash is a fast way to wash a car, but if a person washes their car at home they will get a more efficient job done. The materials needed to properly and effectively wash a car at home include: water hose, bucket, car sponge, rags, tire brush, dry towels, car soap, glass cleaner, and paper towels.

Before washing a car he or she must make sure to park the car in a safe place where water or soap cannot damage its surroundings. Most people park the car in a driveway. After he or she parks the car, do not forget to roll up the windows


In the next step, he or she will take the car sponge or rags and dip them into the bucket of soapy water. With the soapy sponge or rag wipe the surface of the car beginning with the highest point of the car, usually the roof. Wash the car in sections, rinsing each section as he or she moves along. Do not allow the soap to dry on the surface. Continue to dip the sponge or rag into the bucket of soap, and finish washing the car, leaving the tires for last. To wash the tires he or she needs to get the tire brush and dip it into the bucket of soap and scrub each tire thoroughly,rinsing as he or she goes along.
