Many factors went into Shakespeare's and formed his writings. Including the English Renaissance, and the Elizabethan Theatre. Each played a significant role in plays that he has written and we will explore what roles they have played in this paper.

The English Renaissance began around 1485 with the accession of King Henry VII. At the time the Renaissance was closely associated with the arts were all but dying due to the War of the Roses. Machinery could also be used to lift props that could almost be impossible if you were traveling from town to town acting plays in public squares. These theatres could put on more lavish theatre productions and more Elizabethans could see these productions.
