Every generation of a Canadian government has believed that encouraging a "home-grown" cultural identity is important, and in turn have passed many Canadian content laws, financing Canadian-produced theatre performances, musical acts, books, and magazines to name a few. It is quite heartbreaking witnessing the efforts of establishments such as the Canada Council go unfulfilled, as a large number of Canadians do not participate in any form of arts.

The public's support is crucial in the survival of Canadian arts and culture and although the support is not as large as it should be, many are hoping that in the near future Canadians will become more and more aware of the gems that hidden in their own country.
