A detailed Summary of American Injustification

What do the words, "We, the people of the United States" and the reasons for the creation and existence of the United States of America mean to you? To me, they mean that people that sought freedom from religious persecution, economic oppression and equality under the Declaration of Independence. Freedom is for any and all human beings that have a burning desire exercise their right to live their lives in any fashion that suits them to their fullest capacities and for anyone and everyone that wants to live a decent and prosperous life in our country, no matter what race, religion, or creed you subscribe has that right to do so. The issues with this premise are more along the lines of belief in self as opposed to ethnocentrism and illusionary dominion that masks the underlying convictions of greed and subjugation of "those people" (terms that are used to describe minorities) versus being a white middle-class male American.

What does Douglass say here? What idea does he present to the reader as his viewpoint as a slave in early American history? I have always felt in my heart a philosophy that is very simple in nature, "Believing a lie is just as bad as denying the truth." Whether you choose to be moral in your judgments or just go with popular flow of what's in style or politically correct for the moment, everyone is accountable for her or his actions in the treatment of others. Religion, politics, social order, or economics has nothing to do with being right within yourself in understanding the necessity of equality and fairness to other human beings.
