American Injustification
What do the words, “We, the people of the United States” and the reasons for the creation and existence of the United States of America mean to you? To me, they mean that people that sought freedom from religious persecution, economic oppression and equality under the Declaration of Independence. Freedom is for any and all human beings that have a burning desire exercise their right to live their lives in any fashion that suits them to their fullest capacities and for anyone and everyone that wants to live a decent and prosperous life in our country, no matter what race, religion, or creed you subscribe has that right to do so. The issues with this premise are more along the lines of belief in self as opposed to ethnocentrism and illusionary dominion that masks the underlying convictions of greed and subjugation of “those people” (terms that are used to describe minorities) versus being a white middle-class male American. In the movie, “Pow-Wow Highway”, Tom Wiener paints the on the canvas of cinematic art one of the best pictures that depicts the racial injustices of all times, the onslaught of the extermination of the Native American by economic and political means.
