Vital Areas of the Brain

The human body is divided into many different parts called organs. All of the parts are controlled by an organ called the brain, which is located in the head. The brain is made up of many cells, and is the control center of the body. The brain is a soft, wrinkled mass of tissue weighing about 2.75 pounds and has a whitish-pink appearance. Without the hypothalamus humans would not be able to reproduce, feel emotions, or even eat. Without this valuable piece of the brain the human race as we know it would not exist.

of the brain stem is the medulla, responsible for functions of the body that can be performed unconsciously such as breathing and heart rate. The medulla is such a vital part of the brain that if the medulla'
